Wine Country

*Photos by Brittney

Living in Northern Virginia, I am so fortunate to live by so many vineyards (roughly 60 within 60 minutes!), and one of my favorite things to do on weekends is to go to wineries with friends. This past Sunday, I got together with some fellow bloggers for a day of touring different wineries, tasting delicious Virginia wines, and of course taking a few blog photos!

Whether we are heading to our go-to spot or trying somewhere new, it is always important to dress the part! Wineries are typically pretty casual, and I always make sure to check the forecast to help me decide on what to wear...you will want to spend as much time outside as you can! My absolute favorite part about this outfit is this cape. Seriously, it feels and looks so expensive, and I know it will be a staple in my fall and winter wardrobe. It drapes so effortlessly and was the perfect thing to wear for our overcast afternoon.

*Special thank you to Reston Limousine, Visit Loudoun, Stone Tower, and Greenhill Winery for our amazing day!

Choosing the Perfect Dress with Dressometry

Dress c/o Dressometry (runs super small, order at least two sizes up!), Heels (old, similar), Handbag, Earrings c/o

I am actually a super indecisive shopper, which leads me to pretty much exclusively shop online. But, I've learned that one of the hardest things to shop for are dresses. Sure, you have a color or a silhouette in mind, price-point or maybe you have an event and need to find the perfect dress for the occasion, but then the hard part comes in, there are so many stores to look at and it can be so frustrating sifting through styles and colors that are just not what you're looking for.

Dressometry is a new-to-me website (introduced to me by my friend Jenn!) that allows you to completely customize your dress search and actually pulls dresses from hundreds of online retailers matching your criteria. There are so many filters to choose from which makes it so easy finding the perfect dress. I think it took me all of five minutes to pick this little number out! Needless to say, I will definitely be consulting Dressometry for my next dress purchase.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Over The Knee Boots

Piperlime sweater (old, similar), Frame denim, Michael Kors over-the-knee boots (identical), Marc Jacobs handbag, Ray-Ban sunglasses, David Yurman ring, Lydell NYC earrings c/o

One of my favorite trends (that I don't see dying anytime soon) are over-the-knee boots. Short girls rejoice! They seriously make your legs look 10x longer, and who doesn't want that? I love the contrast of black over-the-knee boots with white denim, and it is a great way to transition your "summer pieces" into fall and winter.

How to Maintain a Blow-out & Have Healthy Hair

Y'all. My life has seriously been changed. I will let you in on a little secret, sleeping on a silk/satin pillowcase is probably the easiest way to maintain your hair health. One of the major problems with sleeping on a cotton pillowcase is that it strips your hair of its moisture, meaning that it leaves it dried out and makes it more prone to breakage. Another great bonus? It makes your blowouts last longer! We all know that its not good to wash your hair every single day, and who wants a gorgeous blowout to last only one day? Hello...not me! I'd say a satin pillowcase is a no-brainer.

Primp Style Lounge in Louisville, KY (owned by my sweet cheerleading coach!) sells these amazing pillowcases and also offers a variety of services including blowouts! If you are ever in the Louisville area, you have to stop by!

All Wrapped Up

Happy Monday! I feel like this weekend it officially became fall here in D.C. Which means I have been reaching for my coziest and warmest pieces. As stated in this Instagram, I wear this wrap non-stop. It can be worn as a scarf, but I love draping it over sweaters for a chic, layered look.

Thanks so much for reading!

Darling Lace & Pave Flower Studs

*Photos by Julien

Okay, yes I have SO many white/lace pieces in my closet. But I'm telling you guys, this one is different. The lace is so delicate and feminine, and I especially love that it can be dressed down with a pair of distressed denim.

Also, how cute are these flower earrings? There is a Lou Lou Boutique almost walking distance form my work and it can be so dangerous. They have great jewelry, scarves and accessories at great price points, I just can't help but grab a few things every time I visit.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
