Work to Weekend

Ann Taylor top & skirt (both on sale!), J.Crew denim jacket (budget friendly), Clare V. clutchBP wedges (so happy they're back for a second season!), Daniel Wellington watch (15% off with code 'LMIDD14'

Another work to weekend skirt that I am loving! This skirt is so fun and flow-y, and I love how effortlessly it can be paired with a denim jacket for a more relaxed look. Also, I have borrowed my friend Jenn's Clare V. clutch way too many times, so when it was on the Shopbop sale, she snap chatted me basically telling me that I had to buy it since I have wanted it for so long. Y'all...I use it ALL THE TIME now. Oh my goodness, I can't believe I waited!

Bohemian Vibes

Banana Republic blouse (currently 40% off!), Hinge blanket scarf (have been wearing this constantly!), Current Elliot denim (budget friendly), Dolce Vita booties (similar), Marc Jacobs handbag

If there is one trend I am embracing full-force this spring and summer, it's Bohemian. I cannot get enough!! If you want to try out the trend slowly, I would suggest adding a flow-y top like this to your wardrobe (it's so good that I got it in both colors!), a jacquard scarf, and a pair of booties (that I promise you will get so much use out of).

Also, I want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the sweet comments and messages on Friday's post. It truly means the world to me to have so much love and support! I can't thank you enough!

Reflecting on 2 Years of Blogging

Scoop neck shirt (old, similar) Free People shorts (similar for under $40)

Wow. It has been two years since I created this little space on the internet, and I am happy to say that it is one of the best things I ever did. Even if no one actually reads this, this blog has brought me so much joy, so many new and amazing friends, and so many opportunities that I never thought were possible (#NYFW!!!!).

I didn't celebrate a one year blog anniversary because it wasn't really something I was completely proud of. I would go months without posting and thought about throwing in the towel a lot, but now it is something so special to me that I plan on continuing for the foreseeable future.

You are going to see some changes around here, so pardon the dust! This little blog is getting a major face-lift, including a completely custom blog design thanks to the sweet and talented Aubrey Kinch, and a new name! I am most excited about the name change, because I have never really liked 'Little Styled Life' and the new name is my life motto and something that I say quite frequently. It is a motto that really got me through 2015 and is something I will be elaborating on more once I make the big switch (which is slated for May!)

Along with the design and name changes, there is going to be a shift of content. My friend Emily has written about keeping up with the "Blog Joneses'" before, and over the past year I have become completely guilty of that. Once I took a step back and evaluated my priorities, it became very clear the direction I wanted to take my blog in, and I am so excited for the [slight] shift!

I will absolutely continue with fashion blogging, but I am definitely going to be cutting my spending. I have given myself a strict rule that if an item of clothing is over $100 and is not something I can wear to work and on the weekend, I simply won't buy it. You will start seeing a lot more budget-friendly items, work wear, and outfits that I actually wear on a day-to-day basis. You also might notice the scenery changing in my photos...because I'm moving next month! (more on that later)

To say I am excited for 2016 is a bit of an understatement. There are so many great things in the works and I cannot wait to see what else happens along the way. I want to say a big thank you from the bottom of my heart for anyone who takes time out of their day to read my blog and who have encouraged me along the way...you are truly the BEST and I could not do this without you!

Cheers to year THREE!

Tea Length Skirt

Ann Taylor skirt (runs a little big, wearing 00P), Target shirt, Prada handbag (similar for less), M.Gemi heels (old, similar)

Happy Monday! It was so cold here in Virginia. The past few weeks we have been having 70 degree weather and I really thought spring was here to stay, but it snowed on Saturday! Crazy right? Luckily the forecast shows that it is going to be warming up in the next few days.

Now that I am working a 9-5 job, I have been making more conscious choices when I am out shopping. One of the major things I look for is if it is something that I can wear to work and on the weekends...this skirt covers both! I love that the length is very appropriate for the office, yet still flirty and fun for a date or trip to a winery! Oh, and for my shorter ladies, I am 5'3" and I think this skirt is a great length!

Neutrals

Romwe sweater c/o, Current Elliot denim, Free People bralette, Dolce Vita booties (identical here), Marc Jacobs handbag (similar), Bauble Bar earrings, Daniel Wellington watch c/o (use code LMIDD14 for 15% off!)

I have never really been a big wearer of statement jewelry. I always admired pieces on my friends (seriously, you should see my girl Jenn's jewelry collection!) but I have slowly been incorporating more statement pieces into my wardrobe. Lately, I have been pairing a glam earring with a more causal outfit. I am loving the juxtaposition of the crystal earring and the lace bralette/sweater combination.

Keeping With The Classics

J.Crew sweater, Halogen blanket scarf (old, similar), Frame denim, Marc Fisher booties, Chanel handbag c/o BBoS, Julie Vos necklace c/o, Daniel Wellington watch c/o (get 15% off with my code LMIDD14)

Whenever I am in a style rut, I always reach for the classics. I love those no-brainer pieces that look good together whenever I put them on, no matter the combination!

P.S. I know I have been a little MIA lately, but I promise, there is some great things coming to this little blog. A redesign and a new name (!!!) to list a few! Thank you so much for being on this amazing journey with me. Can't wait to show you all what I have in store!

Green with Envy

Sorry about the hiatus! I came down with a super nasty case of the flu. I hardly ever get sick, I'm talking once a year if that, but when I do its usually something that knocks me down pretty hard.

This is one of my NYFW outfits that I unfortunately had to modify due to the bitter cold. My main mission of the trip was to find affordable pieces that were still extremely fashionable, and pieces I would wear more than once. I love how feminine and elegant the lace is on this top, and the emerald green color is something I never would have normally reached for, which I love!

Also, I cannot tell you enough how badly you need these pants in your life. I have never gotten so many compliments on a pair of pants before. Because honestly, most pants are kinda boring. But these are so so flattering and extremely soft, the perfect work pant in my book!
