A Weekend In Washington D.C.

Last weekend my boyfriend and I stayed in D.C. It was my 23rd birthday and he was leaving for New York to begin his international tour, so we thought it was perfect timing to have a little weekend getaway. We stayed at the new Marriott Marquis and it was stunning. There is so much right around the hotel, too, so we were able to walk to China Town and even walked to the National Theater!

Our room wasn't quite ready, so we walked down to Brasserie Beck for Moules-Frites (mussels & fries) for lunch and oh. my. goodness. some of the best food I've ever had! If you are ever over by China Town, its a little off the path, but so worth it. The restaurant is lined with bistro chairs and the decor inside and out is totally Pinterest-worthy.

We were upgraded to a suite and it was spectacular. The views and the room were gorgeous! My birthday present from my boyfriend was a pair of tickets to see the Broadway show Newsies. After we got back from seeing the musical (if you have the chance, you must see it!), we were welcomed to a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries from my boyfriend's parents...such a sweet surprise!

This post is a lot more long-winded than most, but if you are ever looking for somewhere in Washington D.C., I would highly recommend the Marquis!

Have a wonderful weekend.
Lauren
