Nightly Skincare Routine

Product Details:

Although I have always have put on moisturizer (mainly due to having dry skin and my skin hurts without it), it wasn't until recently that I started to stick to a nightly skincare regimen.

So here is a not so funny story: a few months ago, I came down with pink eye, so I went to the doctor, got some eyedrops, and went on my way. Little did I know, I was allergic to an ingredient in the eyedrops, so I assumed they had been getting worse and I needed to up my dosage. It had gotten so bad that I could hardly see, so I went to an ophthalmologist, who diagnosed the issue. Throughout this whole ordeal, I had to go TWO WEEKS without wearing an ounce of makeup, even at work. This really made me pay attention to my skin, and realize that I wanted to correct my problem areas instead of covering them with makeup. So I have found a skincare routine that works for me, and I've religiously stuck to it since.

Product Details:

Step 1: after taking off my makeup (these will always be my favorite) I use this cleansing oil. With lavender oil and primrose oil as two active ingredients, it is the perfect, relaxing way to start my nighttime routine. Plus it leaves my face feeling silky smooth.

Step 2: once I rinse off the cleansing oil, I put on a serum. I had never understood the craze about serums until recently and y'all, I can notice a difference in my skin tone immediately after putting this stuff on. It's magic. My friend Laura even said it has made some of her fine lines completely disappear! It is definitely expensive, but if there is one skincare item to splurge on, I would recommend it being a serum since you don't use that much.

Step 3: I put on my under-eye cream next (I learned that you are to layer your products least heavy to heaviest). This stuff is super moisturizing and helps prevent that inevitable tired look in the morning.

Step 4: I apply my favorite night cream all over my face and neck (then spread any excess on my hands). I bought this on a whim because I was at Target and needed a night cream. I can confidently say I am on my second jar because it is that good! It is super moisturizing without making my skin look oily, and I wake up with my skin feeling just as moisturized as the night before. An added bonus is that at $11, you can afford to be a little more generous with it.

Step 5: Then, I apply neuLASH. I have been using this for about a year and a half and I can confidently say that it is 100% worth the price (I am on my second tube). neuLASH has made my eyelashes so long and strong and everyone has been able to notice a difference. I have also had zero side effects since using this product. I can't recommend it enough!

Step 6: Although not pictured, I always end by putting on lip balm. I typically switch off between this and this, just depends on what is on my counter that night!

While I have my skincare routine pretty set in stone, I always love trying new products and hearing what other people are using (who knows, I may completely fall in love with something new!) I would love to hear your favorites!

  1. Really want to try the M-61 line soon! I keep hearing such good things but have yet to spring for something. The serum sounds like a good place to start :)
